Dynamo head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi shared his thoughts on UPL.TV after the victory over Obolon in the match of the 10th round of the Ukrainian championship.
- Mr. Oleksandr, congratulations on your victory. What was the key to such a goal extravaganza?
- Thank you! I want to congratulate our fans on the victory and say that these first matches after returning from the national teams are not easy for us. The logistics are extremely complicated. The youth players generally arrived in Kyiv on October 17 at 4 am. We need to take all this into account, all the emotions of the players. Therefore, we focused our preparations for today's match more on those players who remained in the team during the international break.
It's good that Brazhko has already recovered. Yarmolenko had a couple of training sessions, but he has a problem with his Achilles. Unfortunately, I think he will have to continue his treatment. Pikhalonok has just started running work. Shepelev has some problems. The workload on the players is great. The schedule is very tight, and this is an objective thing.
As for the game, we prepared carefully, worked out our moments, and I thank the guys for their professional attitude to the preparation and the match. We have the will to win, but we also need the will to prepare for matches. This quality distinguishes top players from others.
- Karavaev played today and scored. Did he justify his return to the field?
- All our players are ready to play, but we need to take into account their condition - physical and emotional. We let them play. Someone can withstand the full 90 minutes, someone gets "hooked". This is a normal process. The guys always want to play, and even get upset when they don't get into the starting lineup. But we are looking not one step, but two steps ahead.
- It's the second match in a row that Mykhavko has scored an own goal. Do you treat such moments with understanding?
- With jokes(smiles). He never leaves the field without a goal. This is on the one hand, on the other hand, we support him, we understand that this is possible. This is football. Different factors have an impact. The main thing is that we played at a high enough level. There were some mistakes, but they are inevitable. We will continue to work. Glory to Ukraine!
