Striker of Kryvyi Rih «Kryvbas» Daniel Sosa spoke about his performances in Ukraine.
— Last season was bronze medals of UPL. A success for you?
— I believe we did an enormous job. Of course, we were under a bit of pressure at the end of the season, as everyone expected even more from us, and that is very pleasant. But overall, we achieved a good result, ended up in third place. The main thing is to understand that even when we lose, we must keep moving forward and not lose spirit. We need to be even more focused and motivated to reach another level.
— «Kryvbas» could not overcome the European Cup barrier. What was lacking, in your opinion?
— We are debutants in European cups, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I say that we lacked experience. Experience of playing at such a level. We faced two very strong opponents, «Victoria» and «Betis». I believe we demonstrated decent football, but the opponents were more experienced and did not forgive our mistakes.
— Who from the opponents in UPL would you highlight? Name your top-3.
— I think it's Stepanenko, Shaparenko, and Yarmolenko. Their game really impressed me.
— What comes to mind first when you hear Ukraine? Three first associations?
— Friendly people, beautiful country, and delicious food. My favorite Ukrainian dish is borscht.
— Andriy Shevchenko is the most famous Ukrainian footballer in the world?
— Yes, for me he is a big star in football, a top player with an incredible career. He is known beyond Ukraine. Shevchenko is a true global legend.
— Yuriy Vernydub is the best coach in Ukraine?
— One hundred percent. He has done a tremendous job with the club, leading «Kryvbas» to bronze medals in UPL in two years. Moreover, he is a true patriot of Ukraine.
— Against which team or player do you dream of playing in the future with «Kryvbas» in European cups?
— Against «Chelsea». Because I believe that «Kryvbas» can create problems for «Chelsea». I believe in our team and will always believe, as «Kryvbas» is us!
