The guests had the first chance to score in this match: in the 6th minute of the match, "Dynamo" faltered in the center, Zubkov broke free in front of the penalty area, but his shot was obstructed by Popov and Dubinchak, so the shot was not particularly challenging for Bushchan, who comfortably caught the ball. Two minutes later, that same Zubkov shot from about 20 meters, and the ball hit the crossbar of Kyiv's goal. "Dynamo" responded with a long-range shot from Brazhko, but it was inaccurate.
After that, "Shakhtar" enjoyed the advantage, which resulted in two more dangerous moments. In both cases, Sikan attempted a header from outside "Dynamo's" penalty area. While the first shot was quite inaccurate, the second nearly went in, passing just centimeters from the post. There was one good chance for the Kyiv players: in the attacking phase, Buyaĺsky was prepared to shoot from the left side of the penalty area, but decided to deliver a cross to the far post, which was intercepted. In the end, the first half concluded with zeros on the board.
However, immediately after the break, the score was opened. After "Shakhtar" took a corner kick from the left flank, Eginaldo headed the ball from about 8 meters; Bushchan managed to react, but the ball ended up with Bondarenko right in the goal area, who scored on the follow-up — 0:1.
“Dynamo” could have equalized just four minutes later but missed a wonderful opportunity to do so: Dubinchak made a flank pass to the near post, where Voloshin shot from five meters without any obstructions but managed to send the ball well above the goal. Then Dubinchak fired a cannon shot from the edge of the penalty area — this time the ball barely skimmed the post.
Then, in the 58th minute, “Dynamo” received a numerical advantage: Kryskiy jumped from behind into Bilovar's legs and rightfully saw a red card in front of him. However, the next scoring opportunity was created by the “miners” — Konoplia shot from the right side of the penalty area, Bushchan was beaten, and Bilovar saved his team by clearing the ball off the goal line. “Dynamo” responded with a long-range cannon shot from Brazhko, which passed over the crossbar.
The closing moments of the match took place in “Shakhtar's” half. The "Dynamo" players had no scoring chances during this period, but not long before the final whistle, Shovkovsky's charges finally achieved their goal: in the 87th minute of the match, Dubinchak crossed from the left to the far post, where Karavaev struck the ball on the fly into the net — 1:1.
After this result, “Dynamo” lost its sole leadership in the Ukrainian championship standings, now sharing the first and second place with “Alexandria,” leading the third-placed “Polessye” by four points.
In the next round, “Dynamo” looks forward to a home match against “Inhulets” from Petrove. This match will take place next Sunday, November 3, in Kyiv at the “Dynamo” stadium named after Valery Lobanovsky (kickoff — at 18:00). Before that, next Wednesday, October 30, the Dynamo players will face a 1/8 final of the Ukrainian Cup against local “Vorskla” in Poltava.
