The midfielder of Kyiv’s Dynamo Oleksandr Karavaiev commented on the draw in the Ukrainian championship match against Shakhtar on UPL.TV.
— Oleksandr, what emotions do you have from the match?
— More positive, as we earned 1 point, while we could have lost 3. For us, this is a more positive result.
— You scored against Shakhtar for the first time in your career.
— I have already scored 4 or 5 goals precisely after Dubinchak’s passes. When he crosses, it always turns out to be for me. I have a “spot” in the penalty area from which I shoot (smiles).
— You reacted very emotionally to your goal...
— I am overwhelmed with emotions: everyone knows that I am a graduate of the Shakhtar academy, but I have never played for the first team, so I do not hide it — I really wanted to score against Shakhtar. I appeared in such a match. I was happy to snatch a draw. It was a very positive moment.
— What do you think about the conceded goal?
— We played poorly on the standard, allowing the seventh number of Shakhtar to shoot. We watched their previous matches, he constantly scores with his head. For us, this is a good lesson; we need to work on this. We did not play at the level we can. More negative than positive.
— You are already without a game shirt. Who did you give it to?
— There was a moment: a soldier came up to me, who arrived from the front. I understand how hard it is for them there. He gave me a flag and signed it. He said that I would score today and asked if, if possible, I could give him my shirt. Of course, I immediately said, that’s not a problem.
