Defender of “Dynamo” Maksym Dyachuk shared his emotions from the match against “Vorskla” in the Ukrainian Cup, and also talked about his preparation for the upcoming Ukrainian Championship match against “Ingulec”.
— In Poltava, you played for the first time in the starting lineup after your injury. How do you feel?
— I feel good. I’m glad I played a full match, it gives me more motivation and emotions. Rehabilitation was tough, there were its nuances, but now everything is good.
— Who supported you the most? It’s not only physically hard, but mentally too...
— Of course, my future wife supported me the most, as well as my friends, with whom I was in touch all the time.
— How would you rate your readiness based on the match against “Vorskla”?
— I believe I’m ready since I played not just 90 minutes, but 120. I held up physically, and the coaches will decide later whether I’m ready to go on the field.
— Were there any surprises in that match?
— “Vorskla” is always quite a strong opponent, especially since we all know how well the Poltavians play in the Cup. But there were no surprises today — probably the only one was that we played for 120 minutes.
— Did you find out in advance that you would start in the lineup?
— Yes, based on the training process I understood that I could be in the starting lineup. When the coach announced the starting 11, the emotions were only positive. I was very happy.
— What was today’s training dedicated to?
— I won’t reveal all the secrets (smiling). We worked in the usual mode, after a day off we needed to increase the intensity a bit, so we got a good workout.
— After training, you worked on shots with several partners...
— Yes, it’s essential to constantly improve, and this should be a basis, including for defenders, for young players.
— The next match is against “Ingulec”. What do you think about the upcoming opponent, do you remember the matches against them?
— Of course, I remember. They have re-entered UPL, an ambitious team. Generally, against “Dynamo”, all teams come out with maximum concentration and desire.
— This week the team didn’t leave the country. Is it easier that you didn’t have to spend a lot of energy on the road?
— Yes, of course, the logistics are not easy, but we go out on the field and give our all in every match.
