Every day the world is gifted with several famous people who have closely tied their lives to football:

Valery Zuyev

Valery Zuyev (1952-2016) — a former football player who played as a defender. He defended the colors of Kyiv's SKA and “Dynamo,” Dnipropetrovsk's “Dnipro,” and Rostov's SKA. A four-time champion and three-time holder of the USSR Cup. Holder of the Cup Winners’ Cup and UEFA Super Cup. He played 1 friendly match for the USSR national team. After finishing his career, he engaged in coaching. For a time, for ten years Valery Zuyev was an assistant to the head coach of Kyiv's "Dynamo." Valery Leonidovich passed away on May 6, 2016.

Martín Palermo (1973) — a former forward of Argentina's “Boca Juniors.” Throughout his career, he managed to play for clubs such as “Estudiantes,” “Villarreal,” “Betis,” and “Deportivo Alaves.” However, it was only with “Boca” that Palermo was able to fully realize himself as a forward. With the “Yellow-Blues,” Martín won numerous trophies, including the Intercontinental Cup in 2000. Over his career, Palermo played 605 matches, scoring 296 goals. In April 2011, the Argentine forward announced his retirement from professional football.

Rio Ferdinand (1978) — a former English central defender. He made over 80 appearances for the England national team and participated in three World Cups. In addition to playing football, Rio is involved in a number of musical and television projects, including the series of giveaway shows Rio’s World Cup Wind-Ups.
