Dynamo midfielder Oleksandr Karavaiev commented on the defeat against Ferencváros in a Europa League match on MEGOGO.
— Oleksandr, what was the reason for that red card?
— I believe it was an accident. Dubinchak was already off the field fighting and accidentally stepped on the opponent's foot. It was like what happened to Bragaru in the first game when he also accidentally stepped on the opponent's foot. It’s very unfortunate. But this red card instead combined us; we played very well in the first half, created several moments. We just didn’t realize them. And we played with ten men.
— What changed in the second half?
— I don’t understand, I didn’t recognize our team, as we played well in the first half, but then just let our hands drop. You can’t play like this. We will talk because there are no excuses.
— What exactly was lacking later in the game?
— I won’t say that we lacked physical condition; we held up fine. We ran, tried to score. Everything starts from the mind; everyone needs to sort it out within themselves because we don’t have the right to play any other way. We need to adhere to our agreements, guidelines for the game. We have to play completely differently—give it our all on the field.
We conceded very regrettable goals; these are childish mistakes. At this level, any team punishes for this and realizes these moments. I sincerely apologize to the fans; I understand that this is very difficult. We will play differently; I am confident in this. Today's match will be a very great lesson for us.
