Nikolai Morozyuk: "Dynamo has potential. The question is how to develop it?"

The former midfielder of Kiev’s "Dynamo", Nikolai Morozyuk, shared his impressions from yesterday’s match of his former team against Hungarian "Ferencváros" (0:4) in the 4th round of the main stage of the Europa League.

"Of course, like everyone else, I did not expect 0:4 from "Ferencváros". But before the red card and throughout the first half, the game was equal. Unlike the second half, where "Dynamo" had a passive attacking and too defensive play. This led to such a score.

We sat too deep, and the opponent, on the contrary, started to play more aggressively and intensively. This turned into goals. And at 0:2, everything became clear.

Of course, Dubinchak’s red card broke "Dynamo’s" entire game and plan for it. I don’t want to say that he is guilty for the defeat, but his sending off played a huge role in the final result. I can’t be sure that with Dubinchak, "Dynamo" would have won, but they would definitely have had a much better chance of getting three points or drawing.

Current performance of "Dynamo" in the Europa League? It seems to me that this statistic — zero scored, 10 conceded — cannot help but reflect on the psychological state of the players. They are under pressure from this responsibility, and they cannot play to their full potential.

The team has potential. The question is how to develop it? This is already a question for the coaching staff. It’s a process. In the match against "Ferencváros", Buialskyi was substituted, and Yarmolenko did not play. These are experienced players who can lead others, calm them down, and manage the process at such moments. Bragko and other current leaders do not yet have that experience. But they are gaining it.

After such matches, it’s easy to shower players, coaches, and the club with criticism. But it seems to me that they need to be fully supported right now. Nothing is lost. In the European arena, we need to score points in the coefficient table to improve our position for the future,” cited Morozyuk's words "Tribuna".
