Yegor Yarmolyuk: «Rebrov said to do everything without any jitters»

Midfielder of the English club Brentford, Yegor Yarmolyuk, shared in an interview with the UAF YouTube channel his thoughts on his debut call-up to the ranks of the national team of Ukraine.

Yegor Yarmolyuk

— I learned about the call-up to the Ukrainian national team from the administrator of the national team. He called me and said that I was in the squad for the November training camp. Who was the first to know about this? My relatives. I am very happy.

They welcomed me well in the team. Both the players and the coaches. They talked to me and congratulated me.

— Have your teammates already teased you as a newcomer?

— Not yet. I think that will happen soon.

— Did they tell you about any rules that exist in the national team?

— I think these rules are clear to everyone as it is.

— What differences between the national team and the youth team did you notice first?

— In the national team, 100 percent of the best footballers from all over Ukraine are gathered. In the youth team, there is more rotation, while here there is a complete squad. Therefore, it is an honor for me to be here.

— How did the club react to your debut call-up?

— All my teammates and the head coach congratulated me. Everyone is very happy for me and congratulated me pleasantly.

— What will be a success for you at this camp?

— To debut for the national team and win the two upcoming matches.

— What number do you want to take for these matches?

— It’s too early to think about that. I am the youngest, so I will take whatever number they give me.

— Has Sergey Rebrov already talked to you?

— He congratulated me, said to do everything without any jitters, and that everything will be fine.

— Who do you communicate with the most in the national team?

— I flew here with Zabarnyi and Mykolenko. We play together in England, so I mostly communicate with them.

— Impressions from the first training session with the Ukrainian national team?

— I liked everything. A friendly atmosphere, we worked well. We are returning to the hotel with a good result.

— Are you nervous?

— I believe that everyone who joins the Ukrainian national team for the first time will feel some jitters at the first training session. At the very least.
