FIFA plans to introduce an alternative VAR system: coaches will have the right to appeal to video replays

FIFA plans to introduce an alternative VAR system called FVS. This is reported by the ESPN channel.

“We are at the beginning of the process. We will carefully analyze the experience gained at the U-20 and U-17 Women’s World Cups, but so far we have not noticed anything unexpected. Several FIFA member associations have already expressed interest in participating in the research. If IFAB gives permission, several competitions using FVS will take place next year,” said FIFA Referees Committee Chairman Pierluigi Collina.

It is also known that the FVS system can be used by the head coaches of teams. They will have the right to appeal to video replays twice per match and contest the referee's decisions.
