The press service of "Kryvbas" has issued an official statement regarding the refereeing issue in the Ukrainian championship.
The "Kryvbas" Football Club has been an initiator of changes for several years now aimed at improving the refereeing of football matches and the openness of the Referees Committee of UAF. Just over a year ago, at a meeting with the former head of the Committee, our Club proposed seven steps towards change. Since the arrival of the new team led by the head of the refereeing staff, Kateryna Monzul, many expected shifts have already taken place, and some of our proposals have been implemented, which has also resulted in positive changes.
For its part, the clubs of the Ukrainian Premier League are cooperating with the UAF Referees Committee. It was at the initiative of the presidents of the UPL football teams that the payment for refereeing was increased and referees were rewarded based on the results of the previous season. Unfortunately, in recent times, in some matters, the Referees Committee has returned to past working mechanisms, and openness is insufficient and lacks a systematic approach.
Therefore, FC "Kryvbas" supports the demand of FC "Polissya" Zhytomyr and NC "Veres" Rivne for a meeting of representatives of the Ukrainian Premier League clubs with the head of the UAF Referees Committee, Kateryna Monzul, and the UAF arbitration consultant, Nicola Rizzoli, for a direct and open dialogue regarding the quality of refereeing in football matches and the openness of the Committee. We would also like to invite representatives of the PFL to the meeting, as well as the leadership of the Ukrainian Football Association. Only together can we change Ukrainian football for the better,” the statement reads.
