The head coach of the Georgian national team, Willi Sagnol, shared his thoughts on his team’s performance in the current Nations League and also recalled the match against the Ukrainian national team, which they lost 0:1.
“I admit that our opening match against the Czech Republic (4:1, — ed. note) threw us off psychologically. After defeating Albania (1:0, — ed. note), we thought that this group would be easy for us.
We paid for that in the next match. The Ukrainian national team became our first insurmountable barrier. They are always an inconvenient opponent. The thing is, we couldn’t showcase our advantages in that match. Moreover, the task was complicated by the fact that we had no midfielder on the field,” Sagnol’s words were quoted by Sportall.
It should be noted that the next opponent of the Georgian national team is indeed the Ukrainian national team. The teams will face each other next Saturday, November 16, in Batumi.
