At today’s pre-match press conference of the Ukrainian national team in Tirana, dedicated to tomorrow’s Nations League match Albania — Ukraine, an incident occurred due to the Russian language, reports the Telegram channel “VZBIRNA”.
The translator provided by the Albanian Football Federation wanted to translate the questions of local media representatives to the Ukrainian national team in Russian. The Ukrainians categorically refused this. As a result, the translation was carried out exclusively from Albanian to English.
After the press conference, a representative of the Albanian football federation explained that they considered it “the best solution, since Russian is similar to Ukrainian”.
