Head coach of the Albanian national team Silvinho commented on his team’s defeat to the Ukrainian national team (1:2) in yesterday’s match of the final, 6th round of the group stage of the Nations League.
"Two quick goals from the Ukrainian national team were deadly. We conceded in the fourth and ninth minutes. And we paid a high price for that. The same thing happened to us in the away match against the Czech Republic.
We need to grow because these are high-level tournaments, and we need to gain the appropriate pace.
A year ago we won the Euro-2024 qualifying group and that was a success for the team. Similarly, this is now a failure for the whole team.
One goal could have radically changed everything: it would have allowed us to finish in second place, and without it, we ended up last in the group. Such is football. This should make us strive to improve in the future,” said Silvinho.
