Ukrainian coach Oleg Fedorchuk expressed his opinion on the possible transfer of midfielder Ivan Kalyuzhny from Oleksandriya to Donetsk’s Shakhtar.
«I find Ivan appealing primarily not as a footballer, but as an athlete and a person. Players who play with such passion can’t help but evoke sympathy. I talked to several players who know him, and I heard that Ivan is a very modest guy, he lacks any sort of “stardom”.
But, to be frank and honest to the end, Kalyuzhny is not of Shakhtar’s level if the “miners” want to achieve something in the Champions League. One of his shortcomings is his low speed. In modern football at a high level, you can’t do anything without speed,» said Fedorchuk.
