Serhiy Nahorniak: "I really want "Epicenter" to secure a direct ticket to the Premier League"

The head coach of "Epicenter", Serhiy Nahorniak, spoke about the team's leadership in the first league and plans for the second half of the season.

Serhiy Nahorniak

— At the start of the season, we faced personnel losses, which is why everything didn’t go as we would have liked at the beginning. However, we gradually stabilized the squad and the game, which positively affected the results. I believed we could finish first when we defeated "Agrobusiness" at home in the penultimate round of the first stage — 2:0, bringing intrigue back into the struggle for leadership.

But, to finish first, we had to win against "Podillia" in Khmelnytskyi.

— We had to play there under difficult weather conditions, but it didn’t prevent us from acting in our usual combinational style. I believe we won deservedly, allowing the hosts to only activate a bit at the end of the match.

Immediately after the match in Khmelnytskyi, the players of "Epicenter" went on vacation. When do you plan to resume training?

— At the beginning of February, I hope we will strengthen the squad with 2-3 players who have experience in UPL matches.

In the second stage, in the "championship" group, "Epicenter" will lead its closest pursuers by 1-3 points. Have plans for the second part of the season already been adjusted?

— We will continue to strive to win every match. I really want "Epicenter" to secure a direct ticket to the Premier League.

But if "Epicenter" gets promoted, it will face problems conducting home matches, as the stadium in Kamianets-Podilskyi does not currently meet UPL requirements.

— For now, I am responsible for the sports component; the issue of infrastructure is already within the competence of the club management.
