The head coach of “Alexandria” Ruslan Rotan commented on the draw of his team’s match against Rivne’s “Veres” (1:1), which took place in the 14th round of the Ukrainian championship.
“It was a fighting match, which, unfortunately, we were not ready for in the first half. Although we emphasized that “Veres” is a fighting team that plays vertically and looks for space a lot. Everyone understood this. Unfortunately, we couldn’t reach the players; we only made contact during the break. We rushed when the rooster already pecked in one place.
So, two different halves. Probably, today we are already dependent on the problems of the first match after the national teams. But nevertheless, the guys should be thanked for the second half. They created many moments and could have snatched the game. But overall, the result is probably fair.
What did we lack to win? Finishing. It's all quite simple. We had moments, shots, but the final phase of the attacks, unfortunately, did not go in our favor. This all again depends on the mood because the mood doesn’t start from the beginning of the match but a day before the game. A player should tune himself in advance for the match and be ready for it.
Unluckiness probably also played a role in some moments. But, I repeat, I am satisfied that the guys gave their all in the second half and, at least, corrected the situation. Unfortunately, we were just a bit short of victory,” — said Rotan on the YouTube channel “UPL TV”.
