Ukrainian footballer of Czech club Teplice Yegor Tsikalo, who was raised in Kyiv’s Dynamo, commented on today’s match of the Kyiv team against Victoria in the Europa League.
— I support every Ukrainian club that plays in European competitions. But since I spent almost ten years in Dynamo's academy, I have a closer relationship with it. Dynamo has always been a great European brand. In the past, it won the then Cup Winners’ Cup twice and later regularly played in the Champions League. However, in the Europa League group, Kyiv has not yet scored points. Right now, Dynamo has a good team, fast, dynamic players. But results are needed. It will be extremely difficult with Plzeň; it’s hard to determine the favorite.
Every player, every club wants to play at home. It’s hard to concentrate on football when you know what’s happening in Ukraine. But every Ukrainian club and the national team, when they play on European soil, fights not just for themselves, but for the whole country, — said Yegor in a comment to Sport.cz.
