Taras Mykhailik: «The level of preparation of Dynamo allows them to win only in UPL matches»

Former defender of Kyiv’s Dynamo Taras Mykhailik commented on the defeat of his former team by Czech Viktoria (1:2) in the 5th round of the main stage of the Europa League.

“To provide a comprehensive answer that prevents Kyivans from breaking their streak of failures in the Europa League, one needs to be inside the team. Even if you have friends among the current football players, that’s not enough.

However, I hold the view that criticism should be constructive. Dynamo players do not deserve to be accused of not giving their all in the Europa League after a reasonably successful performance in the Champions League and focusing on UPL, where they are determined to win the championship title. Because in diligence and self-sacrifice, you cannot complain about the Dynamo players. Perhaps, most likely, they currently have such a level of preparation that allows them to win only in the domestic arena.

It is felt that the Kyivans are very worried about their poor performance in the Europa League. There are many young players in the team and perhaps psychology has intervened. Because this happens: the better you want to play, the worse it turns out. Therefore, I am confident that it’s better to support Dynamo players right now. They have important matches ahead in UPL, and then another exam in the Europa League against the Spanish club “Real Sociedad”. Due to the fact that the chances of advancing to the next round are minimal, it is possible that the stiffness in the actions of the Kyivans will disappear and they will finally be able to break their losing streak,” said Mykhailik.
