The well-known former Ukrainian striker Sergiy Chuychenko shared his impressions about the game of Kyiv "Dynamo" in the Europa League against the Czech "Viktoria" from Plzeň (1:2).
— Overall, the game was even, and our team did not concede anything to the opponent. However, in ball possession, the advantage was with Kyiv "Dynamo". If at the beginning of the second half the goal by Vіvcharenko had been counted, then our team would have been encouraged and could have taken control of the situation. But right after the disallowed goal, the Dynamo players conceded a goal and got upset. And then they conceded a second... It’s some kind of fatal misfortune: in this edition of the Europa League, "Dynamo" cannot score a goal – it’s hard, it’s not coming together. I don’t even know why this is happening after so many games. From match to match – and they just can’t convert their chances. Until finally at the very end of the fifth game, Kabayev made it, scoring a wonderful goal. But considering that it was the last minute added before the second half, it didn't play any significant role. So I’ll repeat myself: once again, I regret that having favorable moments in the game, "Dynamo" is unable to convert them. And just making mistakes in defense – and right away you suffer from conceded goals. It’s always like this in football – it doesn't forgive mistakes.
— What do you see as the reason for "Dynamo's" defeats in the current edition of the Europa League?
— It’s hard to answer this question since it’s necessary to know all the nuances in the life and activities of the Dynamo team. But it seems quite paradoxical that in the Ukrainian championship "Dynamo" appears confident, while in the main stage of the Europa League the team seems like someone has jinxed them. I already mentioned misfortune. Yes, luck also matters in football. This is exactly what we see in the games of "Dynamo". The team of Oleksandr Shovkovskiy creates scoring chances, but cannot convert them into goals, no matter how hard they try! One cannot say that the Dynamo players are completely outmatched by any particular opponent. Even from yesterday's game, this cannot be said. It seemed that our team did everything right in attack, but… I don’t even know what to say. All that’s left is to express hope that in the upcoming matches, "Dynamo" will restructure and do everything possible to bring points to Ukraine in the UEFA coefficient table.
