Vladislav Lupashko: "There is no result — we quit everything, football is not interesting"

The head coach of Lviv’s "Karpaty", Vladislav Lupashko, explained the differences between the Ukrainian Premier League and the first league of the Ukrainian championship.

Vladislav Lupashko

— The gap is very large. The first league clubs set goals for the UPL, yet do not want to develop. There is no infrastructure, no material base. They start playing with nothing. They set a goal, get promoted, and then — there’s nothing. There’s no result — we quit everything, football is not interesting.

This is very frightening. Teams cannot just come out with nothing. There are few teams in the lower leagues that understand that there may be no results right now, but there is a global goal over 3-5 years. There’s no result — the president "loses it" and the team withdraws. This is a big problem. Teams depend on the owners and the head coach, and there is a lack of qualified management. This is a big problem.

We need to set plans, work towards goals, develop players, and prepare our administrative staff. If we see that players more or less move up to the UPL, then in terms of staff and work organization, the difference is significant. And I understand that for the majority of the audience, it is not interesting to watch the same first league when the broadcast camera is at your level of 10 meters and there is nothing, — said Lupashko.
