Georgian midfielder of Cherkasy LNZ Shota Nonikashvili spoke about the protests taking place in his homeland after the Georgian government’s decision to suspend the country’s European integration until 2028.
“I am following the events happening in my country and want to express my position as a citizen.
I have always supported and will continue to support Georgia and the Georgian people who are fighting for a better future for their country.
I condemn violence, and it is impossible to remain indifferent to what is happening in Georgia right now. Georgia deserves unity and to be a part of Europe.
It is painful to see how our people are suffering. I know that similar events happened in Ukraine, and I hope that everything in my country will end peacefully,” said Nonikashvili.
