The midfielder of the youth team «Dynamo», Danilo Ishchenko, shared his impressions of the home match against «Alexandria», in which the Kyiv team won with a score of 4:1.
— How would you assess today\'s game and the first round of the youth championship in general?
— We do not distinguish games into the first and second rounds. Before each match, the goal is to win. Throughout the week, we prepared and focused. Unfortunately, in the last match, we lost points, so it was very important to win today. I believe this success is quite deserved.
— In the first half, you led 2:0, then the air break interrupted the game, and afterwards the opponent scored a goal. Can it be said that the pause had a better effect on «Alexandria»?
— I think so, the anxiety slightly knocked us off our rhythm, we went onto the field less focused than before, conceded a goal. But during the break, we made certain adjustments, and in the second half, we brought the match to victory.
— There was a lot of fighting in the midfield, you managed to intercept and win almost all the balls, so can you give yourself a high score?
— I do not like to evaluate my game, so it’s better to ask the coaches about that. I can only say that we prepared, understood that there would be a lot of fighting. We realized that whoever wins the fight will win the match. Therefore, it was very important to win the midfield, I believe we succeeded. Of course, I am satisfied, the main thing is that the team won.
— The next match — against «2 Koriku» in the UEFA Youth League, how will the team prepare for it, considering that the first match ended with your victory 5:0?
— Our coaches told us to forget the first game and not to look at the result. We are going to their place for the second match to win as well.
— The year is coming to an end, what conclusions can you draw? Has the team progressed? Did everything go well?
— Perhaps, not everything went well, as in some matches we lost points, even though we played better than our opponent. But we still have the second round ahead after the winter break, so we will prepare and work.
