The head coach of Kryvyi Rih\'s Kryvbas, Yuri Vernidub, while discussing the upcoming match with Lviv’s Karpaty in the 17th round of the Ukrainian championship, made a resonant statement as a result of the scandal that occurred during the meeting of these teams in the first round of the championship.
Recall that in that match, Karpaty achieved a large victory with a score of 3:0. After the third goal, one of the coaches of the Lviv team shouted towards the Kryvbas bench: “Suck it, b***h”. After the match, Vernidub refused to shake hands with his colleague, Karpaty’s coach Vladislav Lupashko.
“Maybe I will be punished again or whatever: I definitely will not shake hands with any coach of this team (Karpaty, — ed. note). After the words I heard directed at the Kryvbas club, no one will make me approach and extend my hand. That’s for sure, not at all!
Let them do what they want. Until they apologize. Not before me — I am a person like everyone else, but to the Kryvbas club. For those words that the assistant coach said,” Vernidub said at a press conference after the match with Odesa’s Chornomorets (3:1) in the 16th round of the Ukrainian championship.
