Former forward of Kyiv "Dynamo" Maksim Shatskikh spoke about the upcoming match of the Kyiv team with "Real Sociedad" in the Europa League.
— Do you think "Dynamo" has chances in the match against "Real Sociedad" in the Europa League?
— There are always chances. What can lead to a result? Complete concentration and total dedication.
— Will the winning match against "Alexandria" help "Dynamo" to have a positive mindset for the match in San Sebastián?
— Of course! A positive result always influences the team better than a negative one. It has always been difficult to play with the Spaniards. But it is still possible to play with them. I hope the game against "Real Sociedad" will be interesting. And "Dynamo" is already time to take some points in this Europa League!
— But "Real Sociedad" concedes very few goals. They have only been scored against once in all their previous matches!
— This is football! There are matches when a team that has not conceded for a long time ends up conceding a goal.
— How would you comment on "Dynamo's" victory over "Alexandria" (3:0)?
— I think the Kyiv team was somewhat affected by the first game in Alexandria. It should be said that in that away match, the Dynamo players created almost nothing. There was a single half-chance for Vanat when he ran into the penalty area of the Alexandrians and shot. But if he had passed the ball to Voloshyn, who was running towards the goal from the other flank, I think, after that match, he would have been transferred to another club already. But Vanat made that decision.
Unfortunately, "Dynamo" did not have many more chances. Before the second match in Kyiv, the Dynamo players drew conclusions and analyzed the first meeting. As a result, the game was completely different. Even though they could have conceded, they managed to score first against "Alexandria." This contributed to the further development of events on the field.
— And what do you say about the Champions League match "Shakhtar" — "Bayern" (1:5)?
— "Bayern" is "Bayern," and the Champions League is the Champions League. Toward the end of the match, the Shakhtar players somehow fell apart; something incomprehensible happened. Probably, they should have held on until the end to prevent the score from being so lopsided. But I repeat, "Bayern" is "Bayern."
