Oleksandr Kovpak on LNZ: «Five coaches in two years is too much»

Former head coach of LNZ Oleksandr Kovpak commented on the resignation from the Cherkasy club of another colleague.

Oleksandr Kovpak

— Changing five coaches in two years is too much. Why such a conveyor? In my opinion, the main reason is the lack of results. Moreover, the club's management wants not just results, but also good play. When I was dismissed, the main reason cited was the lack of experience in such a position. Although I was delivering results.

I don’t know what list of potential coaches is on the management's table, but there is one. And it is right to give the opportunity for choice. Who do I see as a new mentor? It should be a Ukrainian specialist. We have a young team that is gaining experience. Plus a few good legionnaires, and the club academy is working very productively. So we need to choose a Ukrainian mentor and give him two years to work calmly. LNZ is already a solid middle team in the UPL. And in two years, we can set much higher goals for the team,” said Kovpak.
