Sports doctor Dmitri Babeiuk, commenting on the information that Ukrainian midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk from London’s Chelsea failed a doping test and for this reason did not make it to Chelsea’s squad for the last three matches, explained how this situation might develop.

When collecting urine for a doping test, the selected material is split into two separate samples: A and B. This is done to protect the player's rights, as if the mandatory tested sample A is positive, the player can request to test sample B for verification. If sample B is also positive, then the breach of anti-doping rules by the player is confirmed. However, if sample B is negative, the case is closed.
In the event that a breach of anti-doping rules by the player is confirmed, he faces a disqualification of 4 years. In certain cases, if the player manages to prove his innocence, the ban period may be reduced to 2 years.
IMPORTANT RULE: the player bears full responsibility for everything that may be found in his body, even if he had no conscious intention to take any banned substances.
