Well-known journalist Serhiy Tyshchenko shared his thoughts on the doping scandal surrounding Ukrainian midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk of London’s Chelsea, who, let’s remember, transferred to this club for an unreasonable in every sense 100 million euros.
“Mudryk and doping:
1. This is essentially all a major career setback for Mykhailo. He will simply become a meme and a source of mockery. Probably, he should admit his guilt out of negligence to avoid receiving a 4-year ban.
2. I think the reason lies in vitamins, some sports nutrition, the desire to squeeze out more from the body than it can give. The whole team assembled around Mudryk right now is extremely unprofessional.
3. “Shakhtar” has a very serious reputational stain regarding doping. I don’t know of any other club that has had so many positive doping tests — Rybka, Srna, Fred, Hai.
4. “Shakhtar” will find it very difficult to sell its players expensively after Mudryk. Sudakov had every chance to become the new Matviyenko.
5. The Ukrainian national team has suffered a severe loss. Minus Yarmola. Minus Mudryk. One cannot rely on Tsygankov. You can’t play with wingers Kabayev — Zubkov. Thus, there are all preconditions for switching to three defenders.
