Ukrainian blogger Boris Gelerman commented on the doping scandal involving Ukrainian national team midfielder Mykhailo Mudrik.

“But around these two, how shall I put it gently, 'moral authorities', esteemed Sergey Stanislavovich Rebrov (of course, not by himself, it is evident that at the suggestion of others, even more authoritative gentlemen) tried to build the Ukrainian national team. Just as in his time, his attacking companion and predecessor on the national team (at the suggestion of those same authoritative companions) tried to build the team around Vitya Kovalenko.

But, as they say, there wouldn’t be happiness if it weren’t for misfortune helping. And these are not empty words. I really hope that now the atmosphere in the team will become cleaner, healthier. And this will benefit both the team's performance and the results shown. Of course, if Rebrov is not advised by authoritative citizens to now build the team, for example, around Sudakov and Kryskiv or there Zubkov.

But for now, we start from what exists. And the loss of Mudrik for the team — in my humble opinion — is not just a finding and a gift from above, it is, I repeat, a chance for recovery. And even if we set aside purely moral aspects...

You know, an analogy might be appropriate here. The team with Mudrik is like a conditional kid in the neighborhood who has a flick knife given by his older brother. And he constantly waves the knife around so that everyone is afraid. Thus showing that besides this knife (which, by the way, is thrown away two times out of three, and this knife is as dull as a boot), he has nothing else. And if he runs into those who are not afraid or simply more experienced in street battles — then this “trump card” will be pushed deep down for this conditional kid. As has happened many times with our national team.
