— It was very difficult to come to Ukraine due to visa issues. Of course, this negatively affected me, as I was very eager to join Krivbass as soon as possible, play in this team, and help the guys win. However, I accepted the waiting mode for the documents to be processed and continued to train alone. Thank God, everything worked out, and I was able to come.
I can say that all the legionnaires in Kryvyi Rih are doing very well, we feel safe despite the difficult situation in Ukraine. “Krivbass is us” is not just words. Indeed, we have a big red-and-white family, starting from the young trainees of the Krivbass Football Academy to the main team.
You joined Krivbass during the training camp in Turkey. What were your first thoughts about the new team?
— I was happy to see the smiling faces of the guys and coaches, the cheerful atmosphere in the team where everyone jokes a lot with each other.
You once said that Yuriy Vernydub is a top coach.
— Yes, Yuriy Vernydub is a top specialist who values players with character, encourages them to go beyond their capabilities. If you listen to his advice, you can reach true heights and become a top football player. For all the guys, he is like a father, whom you can always turn to for advice.
I want to separately thank Yuriy Mykolaiovych for his warm attitude towards us - the legionnaires, because during the war he communicates a lot with us, creates a calm atmosphere in the team, and does everything so that we feel safe. I really appreciate him.
Many legionnaires note that UPL is a strong league. Name the top 3 clubs that were hard for you to play against?
— I would highlight Dynamo and Shakhtar. Last season, I liked the playing style of Chornomorets - a worthy opponent.
The bronze in UPL with Krivbass is the best period of your professional career?
— Undoubtedly, after all the difficulties in my path - illness, visa problems, and a difficult mental state, it is extremely valuable to receive a bronze medal, as with this achievement, you understand that all the efforts were not in vain. I feel priceless emotions and pride for the team.
What do your friends and acquaintances first ask you about when they learn about football in Ukraine?
— Of course, they worry about my safety, asking about the situation in the country. Regarding questions about football, I always answer that the level of UPL is high, it is not inferior, for example, to the championship of Belgium, as many talented and strong players participate in the Ukrainian championship. I am confident in this.
