The Director of the National Anti-Doping Center, Serhiy Popik, spoke about the conclusions that could arise from the disclosure of a “B” sample if the athlete’s “A” sample had previously returned a positive result.
“Will the disclosure of the 'B' sample improve or worsen the prospects? It depends on the situation. If the 'B' sample is positive, as is the 'A', then it only cements the situation of the initial potential accusation. When the 'B' sample is negative, i.e., disproving the result of the 'A' sample, it only indicates that the case will be closed. But the practice is such that the 'B' sample is a 99.9% confirmation of the 'A' sample," Popik said.
It was previously reported that Chelsea midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk tested positive for doping and has been temporarily suspended from football.
