Today, the following personalities were born:

Valery Lobanovsky

Alexander Golovko (1972) — former Ukrainian footballer. Legendary defender and captain of Kyiv’s “Dynamo”. Also played for Simferopol’s “Tavriya” and the Chinese team “Qingdao Beilaite”. The only footballer who became a champion of Ukraine while representing two different clubs (“Tavriya” — 1 time, “Dynamo” — 7 times — editor’s note). Coached youth teams of Ukraine, and the U-21 national team. Three times in a row recognized as the best central defender of the Ukrainian Championship.

Vitaliy Buyalsky (1993) — Ukrainian footballer, midfielder of Kyiv’s “Dynamo”. At the age of 12, Buyalsky was enrolled in the sports school of Brovary. Four years later, Vitaliy was invited to the “Dynamo” (Kyiv) school. Since 2010, he began to be called up to youth national teams. He made his Premier League debut on May 26, 2013, in the last round match of the Ukrainian Championship against Zaporizhzhia's “Metallurg” (3:0). On February 26, 2015, in the second leg of the 1/16 finals of the Europa League against French “Gengam”, he scored his first goal in official matches for “Dynamo”, contributing to a 3:1 victory. Three days later, he scored for “Dynamo” in the championship for the first time, against Kharkiv's “Metalist”.

Vladimir Lozinskiy (1955-2020) — former defender. Known for his performance in Kyiv’s “Dynamo”. In the “white-blue” team, he played 224 matches, scoring 9 goals. Three-time champion of the USSR. From 2007 to 2010, he worked as a scout for Kyiv’s “Dynamo”. The Ukrainian national team in 2007 and 2009 became the winner of the Summer Universiade under the leadership of Vladimir Fedorovich.

Valery Lobanovsky (1939−2002) — a legend of world football. One of the best coaches in the history of football. Long-time mentor of Kyiv’s “Dynamo”, with which he won numerous trophies, including two Cup Winners' Cups and the UEFA Super Cup. Eight-time champion of the USSR, six-time holder of the USSR Cup, five-time champion of Ukraine, three-time holder of the Cup of Ukraine. He coached the USSR national team three times, with which he became the silver medalist of the 1988 European Championship. Valery Vasilievich had many nicknames that characterized the iron character and coaching talent of a Soviet genius. Lobanovsky was called Mentor, Colonel, Iceberg, and VVL. It is worth mentioning that when Valery Vasilievich worked in Arab countries (UAE, Kuwait), the Arabs called him the Gloomy Bear.

Lobanovsky had a dream — to win the European Champions Cup (later the Champions League — editor's note), which did not come to fruition. “Dynamo” stumbled three times in the semifinals of the most prestigious club tournament. On May 7, 2002, Lobanovsky suffered a stroke during a match in Zaporizhzhia, the effects of which led to his death five days later. On May 15, 2002, Lobanovsky was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. The Kyiv “Dynamo” stadium is named after Valery Vasilievich. The Champions League final of the 2001/2002 season, which took place on May 15, began with a moment of silence in memory of the great player and coach.
