Every year on January 6, the football community in Ukraine and around the world remembers Valeriy Vasylovych Lobanovskyi.
The legendary coach who was ahead of his time was born 86 years ago. Although he has not been with us for over 20 years, his memory continues to live on among his disciples and like-minded people.
Traditionally, on this frosty day, Valeriy Vasylovych's daughter Svitlana, his relatives and close people, colleagues, students, friends, and simple fans gathered at the grave of the Hero of Ukraine at Baykove Cemetery and at the monument to the Great Coach near the Dynamo stadium that bears his name, to honor the memory of a person of great significance.
Young footballers from the DYuFSh "Dynamo" named after V. Lobanovskyi and older students from academic groups joined the attendees along with coaches and parents. Honored journalist of Ukraine Oleksandr Lypenko told those present about the famous figure of Valeriy Lobanovskyi, about his extraordinary achievements and incredible successes. Everyone gathered remembered interesting facts from the master's biography and memorable matches. It is important that children know the history of the great club and the biographies of significant personalities in Dynamo's history.
