Igor Surkis: «I can only express words of gratitude to Oleksandr Andriyevsky»

The president of Kyiv's \"Dynamo\", Igor Surkis commented on the situation surrounding the departure of midfielder Oleksandr Andriyevsky from the team.

— First of all, I want to say that everything that has been said about Oleksandr Andriyevsky supposedly deceiving the \"Dynamo\" (Kyiv) club is not true.

Andriyevsky himself called me and admitted that before the end of the first part of the 2024/2025 season, the head coach of \"Dynamo\" said that he did not count on him. So he called me, purely as a friend, and not as a player to the club president, to ask for advice on how I see the continuation of his career.

— What advice did you give him?

— I told him that if the head coach truly does not count on him, he could very well play here for a while longer, as he is at a competitive football age. I was also aware that he had offers from Poland, and I informed him that I was ready to release him for free.

— The offer from Poland, apparently, did not fit into the player's plans?

— Sashko said he was aware of this option, but due to family circumstances, he could not accept it. He also asked if he could obtain the status of a free agent from a purely sporting perspective — that is, to break the contract without any claims against each other, even though he still had six months left on his contract.

I replied to him that he had done so much for the team that I was giving the instruction to the general director to release him as a free agent. As for where exactly he should continue his career — whether at LNZ, at \"Polissya\", or at \"Shakhtar\" — we didn't even discuss that. The only thing he clearly said was that for him, the priority is to stay in Ukraine due to family circumstances.

— So the club and you personally have no claims against Andriyevsky?

— Exactly, and I can only express words of gratitude to him. This is even evidenced by the fact that our press service thanked the footballer for the years dedicated to \"Dynamo\" long before this injection by a once good journalist, now just a creator of some fakes that do not correspond to reality, a so-called commissioned insider.

— Will you respond to this situation in the legal field?

— I want to warn for the future: if similar insinuations continue, FC \"Dynamo\" (Kyiv) will definitely turn to the appropriate judicial authorities.
