Famous Ukrainian coach Oleg Fedorchuk expressed his opinion regarding the decision of Kyiv's "Dynamo" to release midfielders Vladimir Shepelev and Alexander Andrievsky as free agents.

"Andrievsky did not succeed in "Dynamo" because the average level of the team turned out to be higher than the player's thinking and skill. That’s the first point. The second is that his position in the team is one of the key ones that shapes the game. Overall, I believe that, according to his level, Andrievsky is a player of the fourth or fifth team.

Such players have existed in "Dynamo", for instance, Rybalka. These are players from the academy who have a certain level of skill, but their game intelligence does not meet the club’s overall objectives. Plus, each footballer should, in addition to the general level, have something unique, a personal touch. Take Bragko, for example, his position. He is very aggressive in attack, can determine the match’s outcome, and score important goals. Or, if a player is not effective, he should be like basketball player Dennis Rodman, who once played for the "Chicago Bulls." He had a second salary at the club, but he did not score; he only collected rebounds. Or, speaking of football and "Dynamo", we remember the late Andriy Husin, who could score and take the ball, win duels, for which he was valued. Andrievsky is a typical player, lacking weaknesses but also strengths.

You may ask why he was signed by "Polissya", which is currently not at the bottom of the table? In terms of investment and PR, this team might even be the best; we all saw the noise made by a well-known journalist around Andrievsky’s exit from "Dynamo" and his transfer to the Zhytomyr side. And how they dealt with their best legionnaire, whom just half a year ago they considered the strongest player in the country. As a result, his passport was taken away. But in terms of gameplay, this is a fifth or sixth team, no more. There are indeed many questions regarding "Polissya" about their unstable self-esteem. How they parted ways with coaches and players. It’s good that there is funding, but we all know that such projects usually do not last long.

Regarding Andrievsky's further prospects, he will bring benefits at a certain stage, but he has limitations. It’s like in that car where the speedometer shows 120 km/h, and no matter how good a driver you are, you can’t push it any further. No matter how motivated such a player may be, he can’t maintain top performance for long, sooner or later he returns to his usual level, which is determined by his talent, training, and abilities. If he leaves for free, that’s very good for any club of the caliber of "Oleksandriya", "Kryvbas", or even "Polissya", as we already see.

As for Shepelev, he and Andrievsky even somewhat duplicate each other - good physical qualities, technique, but at the same time very ineffective in attack. Like Andrievsky, Shepelev is a player of good level, but without bright moments to latch onto. Take Buyalsky, for example - there are issues in his tackling, but he is quite effective. Or, again, Bragko - there are questions about his technique, but he has a good shot and is good in tackling.

Shepelev frankly overstayed his time at "Dynamo". Like Andrievsky. I believe they should have been parted with two seasons ago, seizing the opportunity to earn money from them. Perhaps they would have proved themselves in some of the same championships in Turkey or Belgium. But that’s already a question for the club management…” said Fedorchuk.
