Former player of the national team of Ukraine and “Dynamo” Vasyl Kardash shared his impressions of the Europa League match between the players of Turkish “Galatasaray” and the wards of Oleksandr Shovkovskyi:
Vasyl Kardash— To be honest, there were some concerns before the confrontation in Istanbul. After all, Dynamo had never started the second part of the season this early before, and moreover, it was the first official match of this year and right away against the ambitious “Galatasaray” with its incredible fans.
Yes, it was difficult, sometimes we were lucky, again, we could not avoid mistakes in defense, misses during set pieces, too often the hosts shot at our goal, but let’s look for the positive in the earned point.
First of all, Dynamo tried to dictate their conditions even away from home, acted as the first number, were active in the transitional phase, and could not fail to be rewarded with goals for their character shown.
Of course, I am happy for Andrii Yarmolenko, who scored a “double” in his 90th anniversary match for “Dynamo” in European competitions.
This was the first draw for Kyivans in the current Europa League, I hope that in the final match — against RFS (Latvia) — we will also celebrate our first victory,” said Kardash.
