The head coach of “Chernomorets” Oleksandr Babich openly shared why he agreed to lead the club from Odesa and returned to Ukraine during the war.

— My second arrival at “Chernomorets” turned out to be more complicated, considering the situation and the minimal amount of time for preparation. Nine years ago, the circumstances were different. I rose from the reserve team, taking the boys with me, bringing Kalytvintsev and Kovale ts along. I knew the situation well, and the guys were already familiar with my requirements.
Regarding the offer from “Chernomorets,” after discussing it with my wife, I didn’t think long. Invitations from Ukraine had been received before, but we had declined them, whereas in the case of “Chernomorets,” we quickly agreed. I wanted to work with my native team. The management of “Pirina,” where I worked in Bulgaria, was supportive. There was no need for adaptation time,” Babich said.
