Center-back of «Austin» and the Ukrainian national team Oleksandr Svatok commented on the qualification for the 2026 World Cup, where the «yellow-blues» will play against Azerbaijan, Iceland, and France or Croatia. On the topic of the upcoming World Cup, the 30-year-old Ukrainian talked during an interview with the FIFA press service.
«This is a very tough group. Those who think it is easy are mistaken. Today, all teams know how to play well and compactly. There are no easy games anymore; everyone has learned to play more structured, with their own plans and tasks to accomplish.
It’s a tough group, but I hope everything goes well, and Ukraine will be ready. However, we should not expect it to be easy. We must approach each game with great responsibility and the right attitude. Then everything will be fine. I am confident that Ukraine is preparing for the qualifiers. Ukrainian fans are demanding; they will not accept anything less. It all comes down to fulfilling the task, and I am sure the national team will do everything possible to meet their expectations and qualify.
We are a country that loves football, and it would be wonderful if we qualify. I firmly believe that we will qualify. I would be extremely happy and excited to represent the national team at the World Cup, especially since I currently play in the USA,» said Svatok.
