The first vice-president of FC "Metalist" Yevhen Krasnikov explained whether a profitable sale of one of the leaders — Hennadiy Synchuk to "Montreal", which plays in MLS, will help the Kharkiv team get rid of the transfer ban:

“I will answer this way: it will somewhat ease the task, as we must not forget that debts have accumulated over the years. However, we are not sitting idle, constantly in negotiation processes with club management, players to whom there are debts.
Of course, our financial situation would be stronger if "Metalist" could generate funds from those legionnaires who have contracts with us but do not want to return to Ukraine due to Russian aggression and are going on loan. And we are limited in our rights here.
Also, it should not be forgotten that FC "Metalist" exists solely due to earned revenues. And we have to account for every hryvnia, as it concerns not only the main team playing in the First League but also the club academy. But something must be done about this transfer ban because it significantly hinders our progress,” said Krasnikov.
