Vladislav Lupashko: "In the match against Dynamo we must dictate our terms"

The head coach of Lviv’s Karpaty, Vladislav Lupashko, talked about how he plans to build his team’s game in the match of the 18th round of the Ukrainian championship against Kyiv’s Dynamo, which will take place on February 23 in the capital.

“I want to give the guys a little rest after the training camps, because they haven’t seen their families for a long time. We will give them at least two days off. After that, we will gradually prepare for the game against Dynamo. We understand that it is currently very cold in Lviv, so we will train on synthetic turf.

We understand what Dynamo represents, we have seen the matches of this team, including friendly games during the training camps. Dynamo has very qualified footballers of high quality in its lineup. But we will try to play our football, create pressure, and not give Dynamo the opportunity to build simple attacks. We will try to play high.

If we remember our match against Dynamo in the first round of this championship (1:3, — ed. note), then the difference between us was very, very large. And our task now is to reduce this difference. We will see how we will be now and compare this with what it was in the first round — this will measure how much stronger we have become, how we are progressing, as our tasks in the club are step-by-step.

Our ascent is systematic and gradual, so now we have, so to speak, such a task: to become better and to look at ourselves, comparing with how we were during the first round and how we now look against the same opponents. Our main task is that playing away against Dynamo, we must not be afraid. We must dictate our terms,” said Lupashko on the club's YouTube channel "Karpaty".
