Starting from February 9, the U-17 youth team of Ukraine is conducting a training camp in Croatia as part of their preparation for the second qualifying round of Euro 2025, which is set to conclude on the 18th. The blue and yellows have already played one friendly match — against Turkey (1:1), and today, February 16, they competed against Greece. The delegation is headed by the curator of the youth and junior teams Unai Melgosa, and the head coach is Oleksandr Sytnyk.
The first half was divided into two segments. In the first, the Greeks dominated, regularly troubling Krapivin and scoring twice. In the 6th minute, Kiriadidis struck from a tight angle with a powerful shot into the far top corner. In the 22nd, after a set piece, Khaldezos powered the ball into the net on a rebound.
However, before the break, the Ukrainians turned the tide of the match, pressing the opponent and managed to equalize. First, Menshikov earned and converted a penalty. In the 42nd minute, Dzhurabaev switched the ball to the left flank to Muradyan, who entered the box and brilliantly shot past the keeper.
During the break, Oleksandr Sytnyk made eight substitutions. In the 50th minute, the blue and yellows took the lead — a Greek defender made a poor pass to the goalkeeper, resulting in a comical own goal. The Greeks responded with attempts on target, but Fedir Tkachenko saved everything. In the 75th minute, Guram shot dangerously from a sharp angle, moments later, Zalypka made a decent long-range attempt. At the end of the match, our keeper made several more saves, and in stoppage time, Hololobov scored a brilliant goal from a rebound to finalize it — 4:2.
