Famous Ukrainian sports commentator Igor Tsyganik explained why last summer Myron Markevich left the position of head coach of Lviv’s Karpaty.
“I know why they removed Markevich. There was a situation with Dmitry Hodey, whom the Karpaty coaching staff wanted. But the club's chief scout, Gleb Kornenko, asked not to take this player because it was said that Dynamo and Shakhtar were interested in him—well, agents were pushing him.
As a result, the owner of Karpaty suspected the coaching staff of having a certain interest in this player. Consequently, they refused his services. Rightly so, because Hodey did not match the money that was being asked for him,” said Tsyganik during his YouTube channel broadcast.
