The postponement of the match of the 18th round of the Ukrainian championship between Rukh and LNZ due to the epidemiological situation at the Lviv club will not happen. This is stated in Rukh's statement.
“We have not received a response from the appropriate bodies of Ukrainian football regarding the possible postponement of the match of the 18th round of the UPL and have made the decision to play the match against LNZ on the planned date—February 22, regardless of the circumstances and conditions.
Despite the difficult epidemiological situation, including the absence of a large part of the main team's players and the coaching and administrative staff due to illness, FC “Rukh” understands that the match must take place on Saturday, February 22. Therefore, the players who are currently healthy, are available to the first team, and players from the youth squad will take part in this match.
“Rukh” sincerely thanks FC LNZ for their understanding and adherence to the principles of fair play. It is precisely because of this that in their response the “yellow-blacks” guarantee the club from Cherkasy to hold the match at the previously determined time—February 22 at 18:00 at the “Arena Lviv”, so that the opponent has certainty and can prepare for this match properly and on time.
Although FC “Rukh” is firmly convinced that the situation that has arisen with the mass illness of players has clear signs of force majeure and circumstances of irresistible force. And the competition regulations allow for the postponement of the match in this case. The motivation behind FC “Rukh’s” appeal to the relevant bodies to postpone the match was the desire to convey that the sporting principle should prevail in the UPL. Teams must be competitive and in equal conditions to conduct uncompromising and interesting matches that will attract the interest of fans,” the statement from “Rukh” published on the official website of the club says.
