The legendary football player and coach of Kyiv’s Dynamo and all of Ukrainian football, Yozhef Sabo, is celebrating his anniversary. Yozhef Yozhefovych was born in Uzhhorod on February 29, 1940. For ten years, from 1959 to 1969, he played for Kyiv’s Dynamo, winning four championship titles with the "white-blues," including the first in the history of our club. During the times of independent Ukraine, Sabo led Dynamo to the championship as a coach and headed the national team of Ukraine for a long time. On behalf of the club, Dynamo president Igor Surkis congratulated Yozhef Sabo on his birthday.
Dear Yozhef Yozhefovych!
On the occasion of your anniversary, please accept the warmest greetings and best wishes from the Dynamo football family and from me personally!
Without a doubt, you are a legendary figure in Ukrainian football. As one of the pioneers and key players of the first golden team of Dynamo, you have inscribed your name in the history of the club in golden letters and have been an example for subsequent successful generations of footballers for many years.
The sports community values not only your achievements as a player but also your work as a highly qualified coach. You were one of those who earned the rating, authority, and fame of Ukrainian football in the world during the times of the country’s independence.
All of football Ukraine respects you for your professionalism and fairness, sensitivity and attentiveness, intelligence, and kindness. Your authority and expert vision are beyond doubt.
On this festive day, allow me to wish you strong health, happiness, prosperity, family comfort, and most importantly—a peaceful sky over Ukraine and a quicker return to normal life!
Sincerely,
President of FC Dynamo Kyiv
Igor Surkis
