Valeriy Luchkevych: «I want to prove that I am ready to stay at «Dynamo» and fight for the championship»

Having signed a contract with Kyiv’s «Dynamo», defender Valeriy Luchkevych shared his emotions about this event and described how the option to move to the «white-blues» came about.

Valeriy Luchkevych

— Thank you very much for the congratulations. The option for this transfer appeared yesterday, after the agent said that «Dynamo» (Kyiv) wants me, and I didn’t listen to anything else. I just said «yes», and everything was decided very quickly.

You haven’t played in the starting lineup for a long time, how do you assess your physical condition, will you be able to win the competition?

— Fortunately, I am already an experienced footballer, of course, it will take a little time to get back to 100% condition. But it won’t take too long because I know my body well and I can’t wait for the first training session.

Right now, «Dynamo» has a tough schedule, many away matches, the team is fighting for the championship…

— Of course, «Dynamo» has no other tasks — only the championship. I don’t remember a time when it was different. Since childhood, I have known that «Dynamo» is always the champion.

Your contract is currently short-term. What goals do you set for yourself and what plans do you have for the future?

— My task for this period is to show and prove to the management and coaching staff that I am ready to stay here, compete, and help the team fight for the title.

Have you been closely following «Dynamo»’s performances lately?

— Of course. «Dynamo» is the grand of Ukrainian football, so I have always followed it closely and supported it. Plus, «Dynamo» has been participating in European competitions, so I always watched the matches.

Are you familiar with any of the «white-blues» players?

— Yes, with many. I played with some, particularly with Pykhalyonok, Rubchynskyi, Dubinchak. Brazhko is actually my fellow countryman. Overall, I know all the guys well, so there’s no need for a long introduction.
