The midfielder of Kyiv “Dynamo”, Vladimir Brzhko, commented on his team’s victory over Cherkasy LNZ (2:1) in yesterday's match of the 20th round of the Ukrainian championship on the YouTube channel “UPL TV”, where he scored the winning goal.
Vladimir Brzhko. Photo — A. Popov— Does it matter to you who is credited with the winning goal?
— It doesn’t matter to me. The main thing is for the team to win. That’s all. I go out there and try to do my job well. Yes, sometimes I don’t succeed, but everything takes time. Everything will be fine when the team is winning.
— Did you have a feeling that you would score today?
— Honestly, yes. I felt it. Like an instinct, you know. I hoped that I would be released, I wanted to play. I felt somewhere that I could make a decisive action — score or provide an assist. At first, I thought I assisted Guerrero, but he didn’t score. Then I shot — a ricochet. I say, it doesn’t matter who the goal is credited to. The main thing is that we won today.
— Why was the match so difficult for “Dynamo”?
— The first half was completely under our control, we created many chances, but converted only one. The second half started with nervousness, our mistakes appeared on our half of the field. For LNZ, it was a stimulus — a push, one could say. Then a goal into our net. And that’s it: the opponents gained emotional momentum, they started playing one-on-one and didn’t retreat. And that’s all. The pendulum swung. And it became difficult to play. To come into such a game from the bench is very hard. You have to run back and forth, and you are still cold, so to speak.
— Has the team’s mood improved after this victory?
— After the match with “Vorskla” (1:1, — ed. note) the mood was, to put it mildly, not very good. Now it is already better. We will strive to do everything possible to keep the mood always positive.
— How is your physical condition?
— I feel good. I’m working more than twice a day — in the gym and on the field. I’m doing everything to get into my best shape, and the choice is up to the coach.
