LNZ midfielder Hennadiy Pasiich told that the reasons preventing the Cherkasy team from not losing to Dynamo in the match of the 20th round of the Ukrainian Championship, where the Kyiv team snatched victory — 2:1:
“Luck was on the side of the guests. I agree, in the first half they played better and could have scored more than one goal. And that’s all because we didn’t execute the coach’s game plan. We planned to press high, cherish the ball, and act compactly on the flanks. However, perhaps due to excessive nervousness, we rushed, shot aimlessly, and attacks kept rolling towards our goal. The break worked to our benefit.
Our coach Roman Hryhorchuk pointed out the mistakes, asked us to calm down, and we somewhat reshaped tactically. Of course, the quick goal also added confidence, and most importantly, we achieved a breakthrough. You know, nothing foreshadowed such a finish.
I was convinced that we would hold on and not let the draw slip away. But fortune smiled on the Dynamo players. The most disappointing thing was that the shot by Dynamo’s Bražko turned out to be somewhat awkward, but the ball ricocheted off our player into the goal. An unfortunate incident, the hosts didn’t deserve to lose,” said Pasiich.
