Oleksiy Shevchenko: «There is no sense for me to return to Ukraine, then I won’t be able to leave»

Ukrainian goalkeeper of Kazakhstan’s «Okzhetpes» Oleksiy Shevchenko explained why he decided not to join Poltava’s «Vorskla».

«I trained with Poltava’s „Vorskla“. We did not agree on the terms of the contract, and I just continued training with them because the club allowed it, while I was looking for a new place of work. They offered a contract option for only half a year, until the end of the Ukrainian championship. This does not suit me, and there are also certain discrepancies regarding financial issues.

The main obstacle to signing the contract is its duration. It makes no sense for me to return to Ukraine for 3-5 months, because then I won’t be able to leave from there,» said Shevchenko.
