In the 25th round match of the German championship between Bayer and Werder (0:2), Florian Wirtz left the field prematurely due to an injury.
According to the Bayer press service, one of the team leaders sustained an ankle injury and will miss several weeks. Thus, the 21-year-old player will definitely miss the Champions League return match against Munich’s Bayern.
This season, Wirtz has played 39 matches for Bayer in all tournaments, scoring nine goals and providing 11 assists.
