The striker of the youth team of Kyiv’s "Dynamo" Matvei Ponomarenko has been named the best young footballer in Ukraine according to U-19 team coaches.

The coaches had three criteria for selecting the top-5:

— players competing or continuing to participate in the current season in youth leagues (U-19 and below) can be chosen — even if players are partially involved in the adult team;

— players who are permanently transferred to the adult team and do not play at the youth/juvenile level cannot be chosen — for example, Taras Mikhavko from "Dynamo" (he spent all his minutes in the 2024/25 campaign at the UPL level) or youth from the main team of "Metalist" in the First League;

— players from one’s own club cannot be named.

As a result, the first place was taken by Dynamo striker Matvei Ponomarenko, who scored 35 points. Close behind him were Shakhtar central midfielder Viktor Tsukanov and Kolos left winger Artem Husol — both with 34 points.
